Directions: 11009 E Lake Joy Dr NE, Carnation, Washington 98014

From the end of WA-520 in Redmond continue straight. Road name changes to Avondale Rd. Keep straight onto Avondale Rd NE for about ¾ of a mile. Then bear right onto NE Novelty Hill Rd, follow Novelty Hill for about 4.5 Miles. At the light with West Snoqualmie Valley Road turn left. After ¼ miles turn right onto NE 124th St. After 1 mile turn right on WA-203 (Carnation-Duvall Road). At about 4.5 miles turn left on NE Stillwater Hill Road (just after the speed limit changes to 40 MPH). The road name changes to Kelly Road at the top of the hill. About 2 miles after leaving 203 you will turn right at the Y onto NE Lake Joy Rd. Follow this road to the cabin. Park along the lake side of Lake Joy Road or on either of the nearby gravel roads (356th Ave NE or NE Moss Lake Rd).

Breakfast: Same place. Trish will be making muffins with fresh berries. We will also have some eggs and fruit.

Volunteer: After breakfast we are planning to volunteer some time working on the trails. If you can join us, please bring some tools and plan to spend about 3 hours including the hike in and out of where the trail work is needed. We will provide pizza for a late lunch afterwards and of course you are welcome to go for a swim before heading home.


Courses Description: Run starts at 8:30 AM
Road Courses: 2 mile (all paved), 3 or 4 mile (paved and gravel) routes.

  • 2 mile circles the lake on Lake Joy Road.
  • 3 mile route circles the lake but includes an out and back on the gravel road to the Moss Lake Natural Area parking lot.
  • 4 mile route uses the 3 mile route but extends the out and back into the park following the fire road to the creek before turning around.
Trail Course: 5 mile
  • This route takes you into Moss Lake Natural Area. The first and last 1+ miles is on gravel road, the middle 2.5 miles is on single track trail. The course will be marked with flour.
